How to talk about present and past wars in Europe with young people? Specialists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, France and Germany discussed this question in the first seminar of the project ‘War(s) in Europe. Shared experience, collective memory?’. Together they develop methods that they implement in an international youth exchange this fall.
The focus will be on different experiences of war and conflict – from the First and Second World Wars, and from the wars in the Balkans – with an emphasis on different national, local and family approaches to remembrance. The programme also includes topics such as art, participation, a "living library", team building and conflict management.
The Franco-German Youth Office is realising this project together with the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future (EVZ Foundation).
