Around 50 professionals from Germany, France, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, and Hungary enriched the event with diverse perspectives. They were welcomed by Ghenadie Marian, Head of the "European Integration" Unit of the State Chancellery of the Republic of Moldova, the German Ambassador Magret Uebber, and her French counterpart Graham Paul. FGYO General Secretaries Tobias Bütow and Anne Tallineau highlighted in a video message the role of civil society and youth in European cooperation 20 years after the EU's eastern enlargement and 15 years of the EU's Eastern Partnership.
In various discussion rounds, participants exchanged views on the demographic and economic challenges of the region and its European perspective. Important inputs were provided by the Young European Federalists from Moldova, journalist and political analyst Mihai Isac, Deputy Director of the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE) Mihai Mogildea, and FGYO Programme Manager for trilateral projects, Dr Laura Bonn.
During different workshops and project visits in Chisinau, the professionals broadened their knowledge in intercultural education, history and remembrance work, environmental protection, and project management in youth exchanges. They also learnt about funding opportunities for trilateral programmes through the FGYO and initiated their first project ideas.
The FGYO thanks its ECC Regional Adviser Garance Thauvin, Interkulturelles Netzwerk e. V., Peuple et Culture, and Gutta Club in Moldova for the successful cooperation.
